A short video of Jeff speaking about JEFF:

An audio snippet where Jeff talks about how it all began and
the ways in which JEFF helps the homeless.

Here are some snippets from some of the above articles (in
no particular order):
 |
...ON A CHILLY AUTUMN NIGHT a
big white van turns into a driveway beside Cook and
Phillip Park near Sydney's CBD. Within seconds of pulling
up, the first of up to 500 homeless people queues for
a feed. It's a miracle that's carried out every night
of the year, thanks to the vision and dedication of
Jeff Gambin and his volunteers...
|
...Not only do Gambin and wife Alina
feed the homeless, they also assist in arranging housing and
drug councelling, and securing education and employment opportunities.
Just Enough Faith relies on donations and Gambin's private
assets, which he has been selling off over the past nine years...

...The
former businessman and restaurateur cooks the food,
ensuring it's tasty and nourishing. He's inspired
many, from famous footballers to author Bryce Courtenay,
to help out at his food van near the city's St Mary's
Cathedral...
..."I love
it", he shrugs. "Who else gets to have a
dinner party with friends every night? We feed people
from age three to 90, including professors, doctors,
lawyers... We have some very lively discussions!"...
...The Mercedes
and other luxuries have long gone and Jeff's poured
$4.5 million into caring for Sydney's needy. "I'll
still give what I can," he says, "although
it's starting to hurt."...

...Last January, Gambin received a Compaq Community Stars
Award, jointly sponsored by the National Trust, Sydney
Opera House and Compaq. The resulting publicity led the
trustee of a ten-hectare farm in Sydney's outskirts to
ask Gambin if he could use it. Since then, Gambin has
been working at the farm alongside the homeless, planting
fruit trees and vegetables as well as building accommodation.
His dream is that one day his project - called Just Enough
Faith - will be self-sufficient, and that the homeless
will feed the homeless...

...He is a man of boundless enthusiasm and ambition. He
says he is going to make this work ... Mr Gambin is not
motivated by any religious fervour, and is not attached
to any church, but started feeding and helping the homeless
after an offer of help to him from a homeless man when
he was down on his luck...

...He and his wife scan the papers for job advertisements,
they get their protégés clean clothes, they
pick them up and take them for the interview - Mr Gambin
goes in first, explaining their situation, vouching for
them and pleading they be given a go. They buy them a
fortnightly train pass to make sure they get to work in
the first two weeks...

...A
recent study based on the 1996 census found more than
one hundred thousand people in Australia without a regular
place to stay, for a range of reasons which defy some
of the easy stereotypes. As you'll see people have come
upon a series of crises in their lives which have sent
them on a bewildering downward spiral towards the streets...
...Ironically as the economy
flourishes in the cities, poorer people are being priced
out. Increased rents, and tougher welfare tests all
contribute to the growing number of people who find
themselves homeless...
...A lot of people have a misconception
as soon as they see the word faith. They believe or
tend to believe, oh this is another religious group.
We have no affiliation at all with any religious group,
political or otherwise...
...I like to think that I am
a spiritual person, not a religious person. If you ask
me if I believe in a god, I'll have to say yes. It's
just a feeling from within...
