JEF Helping Aussie FarmersOver the last few months, Just Enough Faith has been extending operations to the rural district of Deniliquin in South-West NSW. The continued drought has left many farmers in this Murray River region with little or no income and crops down to 20% of what they were 4 years ago. They were treated to free Xmas lunch, hampers to take home and a Xmas gift for every child. The entertainment included comedian VInce Sorrenti, radio personality Doug Mulray, country singer Keith Armitage and award winning theatre and cabaret performer Wayne Scott Kermond. Professional clowns Toot and Stretch were a hit with the kids and the Geordie "Joe" Cocker band entertained the crowd throughout the day. The support and sponsorship offered for the event by so many companies left us in no doubt that city people really do care about what is happening in the country-often it's not knowing how to help. Sunday, 29th July was all about restoring a bit of faith and hope for a rural community, showing our support and putting a lot of smiles on peoples faces and that we did in droves!!! Newspapers Articles on the EventThe following articles were featured in the Deniliquin Pastoral Times newspaper: Thousands celebrate Christmas in July - front-page article. Christmas in July - 2-page pictorial spread with news on the event. Opinion: Team Effort - Editorial on the amazing teamwork and effort that was put in by all to make this event a success. Farm tours for Sydney girls - Article about a group of young volunteers from Sydney's MLC school who learnt a great deal about life in the country.
